The Club under the program Desk entitled ” Discovering the Attic ” organizes
its fourth consecutive walk in cave Paianias ” Koutouki ‘ and Mount Hymettus Sunday 30/03/2014 .
The start will be the Cross of St. Paraskevi in Lavrio Avenue once we turn from Mesogheion or Marathon Avenue to 100 meters in the churchyard Cross as shown below , at 10:00 am Sunday .
We will follow the route of 12 km and you will reach the famous cave Paianias called ” Koutouki .”
The Cave ” Koutouki ” is the largest and most beautiful of the sixty ( 60 ) about caves in Attica. Located on the eastern outskirts of the main massif of Mount Hymettus , at an altitude of 510 meters and falling in Peania .
The first explorer of the cave is considered the journalist M. Hatzopoulos , who , with the help of local residents , held its first descent of the natural entrance of the cave , where previously he had fallen a kid .
Followed several visits various groups naturalists , with the most significant one of John and Anna Petrocheilou the Greek Speleological Society in 1954 , which did mapping .
The visit lasts approximately one hour and the ticket costs 5 euros simple, for many children and people over 65 years € 3 and € 2 for schools .

The club will try to have the best price as group.
After the visit we will follow earthen beautiful ride in the Monastery of St. John of hunting on foot of Hymettus area of Agia Paraskevi . The monastery is visited by strict protocol display where women are denied access to pants .
Then will follow a dirt track of outstanding beauty with views across Athens and get to the Monastery of Saint -star is an amazing temple in the heart of Mount Hymettus .
In the afternoon we’re going to eat in the canteen of the municipality Kaisarianis under ‘ Kalopoula ” before Kaisarianis Monastery where we can freely take very good and cheap food from the canteen , or to have us and those who want some foods that can accompany the with little krasaki cold beer or buying from the canteen .
After lunch , we visit the area around the monastery Kaisarianis has many places for walking.
We expect everyone to spend a pleasant Sunday stroll .
